The Old Police House

This old 50’s police house renovation in Tunbridge Wells is a great example of how you can transform the look of your home with a simple mix of materials. The project incorporated two exterior finishes, the bulk of the existing part of the house was rendered whilst the newly added extensions were clad in a beautiful natural Western Red Cedar.
The cladding will age and become a beautiful silver, really helping to keep the original honesty of the building and help highlight the new anthracite grey aluminium windows. The silvering timber wraps around the rear of building and sits perfectly with the dark grey rendered rear single storey extension.
The details that go unnoticed are some of the things we get most excited about! It sounds strange I know but these details are what make all the difference, they turn a standard job into something of real quality and craftsmanship. Below are a few of the details from this job – from the intricacy of hidden window reveals to the simplicity of consistent spacing.
